Dear Friend of Liberty,
What would you do if you were fired from your job because you chose to live out your faith?
What if you were forced to shut down your family-owned business because you ran it according to your religious beliefs?
I know these are hard questions. And some of you may think they are far too ludicrous or think something like that could never happen in America.
But attacks keep on surfacing against people of faith across our country who, like you, want to live and work in accordance with their deeply-held beliefs.
And what’s happened is that people of faith in the workplace have become second-class citizens, as just about any other right trumps America’s first freedom – the right to live out your faith.
That’s why right now our legal team is fighting a case at the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of Melissa Klein, a cake artist whose dream bakery, Sweet Cakes by Melissa, was destroyed as an unjust punishment for politely declining to create and express a message that was contrary to her faith.
In America, going to work should never mean you have to leave your faith at the door.
The government has no right to tell business owners, entrepreneurs or creative professionals what they can and cannot say, and much less to punish them for operating consistently with their faith.
By winning a critical victory for Melissa Klein at the Supreme Court, we can make sure no other American loses their livelihood because of their religious beliefs.
That’s why it’s crucial for you to act right now.
We have an incredible opportunity to win a historic victory that will restore religious freedom to what our Founding Father’s intended.
Today, I’m urging you to make a generous gift so that we can win the Sweet Cakes by Melissa case and re-establish the meaning of the First Amendment.
With your ongoing financial support, we can overturn the dreadful attacks on religious freedom that keep happening in the workplace – and ensure that you, your family and your business do not become the next targets of this all-out assault on faith.
Will you join us by making a timely donation?
Give now. You can help protect religious liberty for Melissa Klein, American business owners and people of faith in the workplace.
Gratefully,
Kelly
