EMPLOYMENT EQUITY for SINGLE MOMS
Do you want a job that pays higher wages?
MLICCI works to improve women’s economic security in Mississippi by making child care affordable for low-income working moms, achieving gender and racial equity in the workforce and making the safety net work for women.
We know that single moms need jobs that pay higher wages and affordable child care that supports work. That’s why we’ve launched the Employment Equity for Single Moms (EESM) project to help single mothers in Mississippi find the education, training and resources they need to find higher-paying jobs in their local area. We also offer child care so that the moms in our program can go to school or job training and know that their children are well cared for.
Ultimately, our goal is to help every single mother earn a livable wage and become more financially secure.
EESM is working with job force centers across the state to create pathways for advanced education and job training for single moms.

Employment Equity for Single Moms: FAQ
Q: How do I apply?
A: Use our quick form to send your contact information, and a member of our team will reach out to you.
Q: How will I know if I qualify to receive help from EESM?
A: If you live in Mississippi and are a single mother, we want to talk to you about increasing your career options through our program. We have case managers assigned to four areas of Mississippi who are eager to talk to single moms who want to further their education or career path.
Q: Does the program cost me anything?
A: Enrolling in EESM is free to you as a single mom. Once you’re assigned to a case manager, we connect you with free and low-cost resources that will help you pursue goals for your career and your family.
Q: Will I be able to select the child care center that I enroll my child(ren) in?
A: Absolutely. We have a network of child care providers who are ready to care for your children, but you ultimately decide which of those providers you’ll enroll with.
