Edisto Basin Planning

Overview

In May 2023, the Edisto River Basin Plan was completed by the Edisto River Basin Council under the guidance of the South Carolina State Water Planning Framework. Formal council meetings began in June 2020, and the council met on a monthly basis over a three year period to work on the plan. The River Basin Plan includes a review of both surface water and groundwater availability over a 50-year planning horizon and documents water management strategies that will help ensure water is available for all future uses.
