Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto (Canada) is humbled to announce a Christmas Essage Challenge to all Greek Canadian Orthodox children across Canada.
“WHAT DOES THE BIRTH (NATIVITY) OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST MEAN TO YOU?”
Essay Rules & Guidelines
The challenge is open to all Greek Orthodox youth in Canada
There are two categories, (8-13 and 14-19 year olds) with separate scholarships for each. 1st prize, $400; 2nd prize, $200; 3rd Prize $100.
Essays should be between 300-700 words for the younger age group and 500-1000 for the older group. Essays should include a title, the name and age of the author, mailing address, phone number and email address.
Essays must be submitted by email (metropolis-website@gometropolis.org) with the subject Christmas Essage Challenge
Submissions will be assessed based on the criteria of content, organization, style, language, creativity and originality. Authors may draw from, and reflect upon, personal experiences, conversations with family and friends and other research.
Submission deadline: December 31, 2017.
