Green Music (Francesco Cavaliere & Tomoko Sauvage) + Francesco Cavaliere (solo)

No Longer Available

Green Music is a visual music project by a duo, Francesco Cavaliere (IT/DE) and Tomoko Sauvage (JP/FR) started in 2016. Green Music gives life to an imaginary score of green shaded stories with their sculptures and icons enlivened by animal voices, wind and underwater flora. Their musical and visual theories come from superstitions, myths, matters and materials coincidentally collected while traveling in different parts of the world as well as the precious heritage of Henning Christiansen.

To open the evening Francesco Cavaliere will perform a new piece around Gancio Cielo’s audio stories involving sound library, music concrete and story telling. “The basis for Cavaliere’s music is derived from the prowess of his imagination, which at a young age was stimulated by a gift, given to him by his grandma. “At a very young age, my grandmother, who was a music teacher, gave to me a cassette record player. And as I was an only-child, I would sit in my room alone, and have con- versations with the record player and my pre recorded voice. I communicated with it.” (Spencer Clark article on Cavaliere’s music, kraak magazine)

Tomoko Sauvage

Tomoko Sauvage, Japanese musician and artist active since mid 2000’s, investigates the sculpturality of sound and improvisation in relation to the environment. Mainly known for a musical / visual research about ‘natural synthesizer’ of her invention, composed with diverse fluid, bowls, ceramic, light and underwater amplification, Sauvage’s approach is attached to questions of alchemy, meditation and balance between hazard and mastery. Under the form of performances, installations and musical compositions, her work is regularly presented in Europe, Asia and America. Her second solo album "Musique Hydromantique" was released on Shelter Press in October 2017.

“The basis for Cavaliere’s music is derived from the prowess of his imagination, which at a young age was stimulated by a gift, given to him by his grandma. “At a very young age, my grandmother, who was a music teacher, gave to me a cassette record player. And as I was an only-child, I would sit in my room alone, and have conversations with the record player and my pre recorded voice. I communicated with it.” (Spencer Clark)
