When danger threatens a bonafide city girl, an adventurer is her only hope of rescue

Mountain climber Matt Hanley is a former investment manager whose lean body and rugged good looks epitomize an outdoor adrenaline junky. When his business partner in their country hotel is injured, he needs an efficient replacement in a hurry.
Hailey Gordon lives a chic city life free of adventures and
daredevils. She craves stability and security but loses her job
and boyfriend on the same day. A holiday job in France is the
perfect escape from her troubles. Sparks ignite when Matt and Hailey meet, but she resolves to ignore the flame flickering
between them. Aside from the fact Matt is her boss, she is
convinced he is not her type. Matt is determined to teach Hailey to look beyond appearances. He needs to show her how good they are together, even if he must risk life and limb to do so.

The first romance novel I read was either The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss (borrowed from my father's book shelves) or These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer (discovered on the library shelves). Both instilled a love of historical romance from which I have never recovered – and nor do I wish to recover. For a while I read them veraciously, alternating with adventure stories and detective novels. Then I drifted away from romance novels and wondered I was reading less and less.

Fortunately, I was lucky enough to stumble across the novels of Anne Gracie and one chapter was enough to explain what I was missing - the derring-do, the love, the passion and the escapism. The kind of books that make the world look like a better place. Now I read voraciously again although these days I read across the many sub-genres of romance, including contemporary, rural romance, small town, cowboy, paranormal and many others.

When I am not reading or writing, I work as a book publicist and freelance editor. I am a member of the Romance Writers of Australia (RWA), Australian Romance Readers Association (ARRA), Editors NSW and The Institute for Professional Editors (IPEd).

Matt has come a long way from his former life as an investment manager. He's now a mountain climber, a self-admitted adrenaline junkie, but he doesn't shirk his responsibilities. Which is why he's now trying to quickly find a temporary replacement for his business partner at their country hotel.

Hailey is Matt's opposite in a lot of ways, especially as she avoids danger and adventure whenever possible. She loves her city life, craves stability and is comfortable in her relationship. And then she loses it all. The job is no longer hers, neither is the boyfriend, good riddance on that part though since he's a cheater, and having no income makes a chic city life hard to maintain.

Going to France AND being able to work there temporarily? Maybe this adventure thing isn't so bad after all. Hailey can get in some sightseeing, leave behind her past, and regroup. And then she meets Matt and woah, the sparks are about shooting from the two of them. Not that Hailey will admit that. Besides, Matt is her boss and they couldn't be any different.

Matt has a plan though. He intends to show Hailey what you see isn't always what you get. You have to look below the surface and you just might get everything you ever wanted.

Can Matt convince Hailey they belong together? Will Hailey see Matt is exactly who she needs? Is the only danger to Hailey's heart? Or is something else going on? Can Matt protect her? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people, seemingly opposites for all intents and purposes, realize they have far more in common than they knew. I liked that Matt was determined to show Hailey what they could be, that she was the reluctant party and he had to convince her instead of the other way around. - By Elizabeth

The Millionaire Mountain Climber exudes a sense of tongue-in-cheek sexiness from the first page. The repartee between Matt and Hailey provides plenty of opportunity to smile, chuckle or perhaps blush just a little. I loved it!
Hailey appealed to me right away with her sass, her flair for organisation and her love of outrageously impractical shoes pointing to a complex personality. I liked Matt too, with his sense of loyalty to his friends, his easy charm and his willingness to step up and deal with a situation in a clear and logical way when needed.
The sizzle between these two was great to watch. Having said that, I did find some of the sex scenes a little clinical at times. I don’t need to know every minute detail to get a sense that two people have perfect chemistry, though this could just be me.
I liked the setting in the French Alps. With the heavy snow, a glacier and a tricky crevice or two there was plenty of opportunity for plot twists or the odd bit of danger, which added interest. The story was well paced with just enough going on to keep me wondering what would happen next. It has been an easy and enjoyable read.

This is a fabulous debut for MS Boon, sensual and action packed in such a beautiful setting the French Alps, the characters are strong and are sure to win your heart and friendship, there is witty banter and a sexual tension that will keep you turning the pages as you get to know two Aussies living away from home, Hailey Gordon and Matt Hanley, make yourself comfortable for a journey to happiness that is sure to leave you beaming.

Hailey has been cheated on by her boyfriend and often feels abandoned by the people she loves, she works hard as a PR consultant and when she loses her boyfriend and job on the same day, she takes off to the Hunter Valley to spend some time with her sister, this leads to a holiday job offer in the French Alps and Hailey is not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and takes off on an adventure that will turn her world upside down when she meets her ruggedly handsome boss Matt and the sparks fly.

Matt worked for many years in the banking sector making his money but it was never what he really wanted, he loves mountain climbing and skiing and is now part owner in a boutique hotel in the Alps, he loves his women and is a strong alpha, so when he goes to the airport to pick Hailey up the over confident hero comes through and he is determined to get on the good side of the gorgeous Hailey however he can, he wants a holiday fling.

Hailey and Matt clash in many ways the witty comebacks between them will have you smiling, Matt can be a bit arrogant and Hailey will not stand for it but fighting her feelings for him is a losing battle and when Hailey is in danger both realize that the feelings they have for each other is true love and not to be denied and never just a holiday fling. This is a story that I highly recommend, I really loved the setting and Matt and Hailey and the other characters in the story, Pierre, Genie and Caro all added so much to the story and I do look forward to many more stories from MS Boon, thank you for a great story.

Snow capped mountains in the French Alps along with some chocolate croissants is the backdrop for this delicious book.  Romance at it’s finest is found from the beginning to the end with a flirty handsome mountain climber and a fed-up events planner.  Having never been to France, Laura Boon paints a beautiful picture in this book to that point I could close my eyes and see the village nestled between the mountains and almost feel the cold nipping at my nose.  With a little bit of danger and a small mystery put in the mix along with the fun sexy time, The Millionaire Mountain Climber is a 4-star read that I recommend.

A really enjoyable romance with a dash of adventure and intrigue. I really loved the chemistry between the two main characters and the banter they had between them. They both had issues to deal with in order to realise they were made for each other. I loved the setting and wish I had the opportunity that Hailey had, both in going to France to work in the mountains and finding her potential Mr Right there. I look forward to reading more by Laura Boon.

Cute romance mixed with action and adventure. The connection between Matt and Hailey is amazing. This is the first book I read from Laura Boon and I loved the romance. They both have issues that keep them from wanting to go forward together but once they are resolved it is a lasting love.
