Fear was not going to stop them. Running was vital to their lives.

Sadly this story didn't excite me the way that it did the others.
But the ending is a bomb! Leaves you craving for more.

I feel the need to say this: sometimes when reading a book and being in a particular mood, it affects a lot to the way how we feel about the story (not feeling it). Sadly this has happened to me here. So it's not the story, I'm blaming it all on me.

Running from Disaster is the perfect mix of suspense and romance. Aubrey Parr combines the both into a story that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. The romance flowed alongside the mystery of who was kidnapping runners and the uncertainty of who was safe. As a reader, I was vigilant, taking in details as if I were a part of the story. This book will grab you and keep on your toes until the end. And that ending... a total twist.

Running from Disaster by Aubrey Parr was sensational! I love a variety of genres and thrillers are one of them. In Book One of the Sunrise Runners Duology, readers will be sucked into the story from the very first line and even when book once reaches its conclusion, you will be antsy for more of this story. The book is part of a duology, so some of the story will carry over, but it is very important to note that this book doesn’t end on an absolute cliffhanger. For people like me, that’s a good thing. I often just flat don’t read books that end in a cliffhanger. I hope that in imparting this information I do not ruin the story for you. I am not giving you spoilers…just defusing a reason some might hesitate to read the book.

That said, Aubrey Parr is an excellent author. Running from Disaster was an exceptionally well written romantic thriller that isn’t necessarily as heavy on the sex as other’s in this genre. Do not mistake me, this is a romance, and there is sex. It’s quite steamy. BUT it doesn’t dictate the course of the story as one often experiences in a romantic thriller. Running from Disaster was by far more of a thriller then a romance. I loved how skilled Aubrey was in keeping my heart pumping. I literally could not put this book down. I was just consumed by the plot and when I finished it, I was just floored. You see, this is my first encounter with Aubrey’s writing, but I promise you, I will be stalking her on social media and Amazon from here on out!!!

Readers will enjoy the duel perspective offered in Running from Disaster. Getting to read both Gaby and Dylan’s perspective is essential to getting truly entangled with this thriller. After all, feeling their perspectives is like doubling our own fear, right?!?!?! Also, I FLOVE these characters. Gaby and Dylan are both very well-developed characters. I did like that we got more backstory in why Dylan operated the way he did before Gaby. On the other hand, we did not really get much backstory on Gaby’s past relationships. Then again, Dylan may not have been as well received without understanding why he’s the way he is. (Does that sound super mysterious?! Great!!! You’ll have to read the book to discover the answers to that riddle!) Also, I was so glad that we had Vi and Fi as secondary characters…the story would have been a little flat without them because there is not as much ‘interaction’ with outside characters. Yes, Gaby runs a coffee shop…but the story is equally focused on her running. By incorporating some strong friends for Gaby, plot becomes gloriously well rounded!

If you are looking for a book that will literally hold your captive at the expense of everything else in your life, Running from Disaster is the book for you!! I have no doubt that the exceptional writing and superior plot that Aubrey Parr produced for readers with her latest work will be well received. Jump on this first installment in the Sunrise Runner’s Duology so you are ready to go when book two release in the near future!!!

Running From Disaster was an super exciting read that kept me on the edge of my seat cover to cover. There's a crazy on the loose, and this person likes to abduct & torture runners. Each victim is being tortured in new ways. Gabriella Winters runs with her two best friends every day, and while they aren't going to let fear stop them, she's having some nightmares as each new victim is found. But the good news, is a man that Gaby has been watching for months in her coffee shop, has asked her out, providing a distraction from the fear gripping the city. However, Dylan Hart is a walking disaster for relationships, as every time she's seen him, he's been breaking up with a different woman, but Gaby still can't stay away. Gaby was a great heroine with a big heart, so she was easy to love instantly. But Dylan had some issues, not that I didn't love him, but he was close to really messing up more than once. Luckily, he wanted to be better for Gaby. And when the crap hits the fan, he mans up completely. Aubrey Parr's talented writing style kept me turning the pages at lightning speed, and this series is already an addiction. Her twists kept the f-bombs dropping, and no, not going to say what they are, you will just have to read it. However, that ending, has placed her on my list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD, so she must be hashtagged #EVILWHORE FOREVERMORE. In conclusion, I loved this story, CANNOT wait for the next book, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is the first book by Aubrey that I have read and I really enjoyed it. There is someone on the lose taking runners. He is getting more violent with each girl he takes. Gabriella and two of her friends run together each morning. They feel safe because they run in a group. The girls are getting more and more worried with each girl that gets attacked. Gabby owns a small cozy coffee shop. Dylan Hart comes in often and breaks up with his lady friends in her shop. Then one day he asks her out. Sure, he is hot but can she trust her heart with him after seeing him break up with so many women in her shop. Dylan isn’t good at dating or caring about someone else. But, he wants to be better for Gabby. He wants her like he has never wanted a woman before. Then the unthinkable happens and Gabby is taken. He is going to do anything he can to get her back. Is it the same man or someone else? She wasn’t taken while running but from her coffee shop. This book was great. There is romance, danger, and a bit of angst. The characters in this book are in their 40s. I like reading about mature characters. Dylan is a great guy and he is really trying to be different for Gabby. Gabby is a bit nervous about giving her heart to Dylan. This book ends softly not really a cliffhanger to me. I am eager to read about the second book. I look forward to reading more books by Aubrey in the future.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

So let me start by saying I really wasn't ready. This book is awesome that isn't a question. The author played it perfectly. The plot is awesome (it is truly not a standalone but you don't know it til you know it). With that being said I love the way they come in contact. I love the background on him. I love that even with the drama and stuff that happens old boy jumps up and does what needs to be done. I really don't think there was anything I didn't love. The 3 friends, their friendship and their bond. His present. The author had fun with this and the reader does too. You run through a hodge podge of emotions that wind up to "oh CRAP no she didn't go there!! I need to write the review so I can read the next book." And that's just what I am doing.

This author is new to me and I am in complete and utter love and can't wait to read the next book. I love the way she played it. Her in your face no extra unnecessary frills is right up my alley, I think I am hooked. Awesome read.

There's a mad man on the loose and he has an aversion for runners ( I told you running wasn't safe ). He hasn't killed as yet , he catches them , tortures them and then releases them at point of capture ..... he "experiments" on them .....strangely he has morals if you like , which I found odd yet interesting......

Woman are encouraged to run in groups and running friends Gabriella , Violet and Fiona won't let this deter them from their morning runs ..... they meet up after for coffee at Gabriella's coffee shop ( what an awesome friend to have)

It's at said shop where Gabriella's eye catches Dylan and among the chaos and suspense new found love blossoms

Then Gabriella is taken .....

Thankfully she is returned but i felt her fear and the what ifs in the days that follow , having been a hijack survivor myself , i could identity with her , it was very real for me .

I'm grayeful Dylan and Gabriella get their HEA .

But the attacker is still out there .....

What a fantastic read! My knuckles (at times) were turning white from gripping my kindle so hard. Gabby Winters and Dylan Hart’s story kept me engrossed throughout the book. Page after page, chapter after chapter and after every twist and turn I could feel my heart start racing and at times wanting to close my eyes. But then I realized I couldn’t close my eyes – I needed to keep reading!
Love, love, love a good mystery and this book has it in spades!
And the ending! Was not expecting that at all! I need the next book like NOW! Highly recommend!

This is the first book I have read of Aubrey's and I really enjoyed it. She's a great writer and really brought this story to life. It took me way longer to read then it normally takes me to read a book due to life and I hated that I couldn't keep going at my usual pace as I really wanted to find out what happened to Gabriella and then what happened with Gabriella and Dylan. I'm so glad Book 2, Racing from Chaos, is already out as she leaves us with a bit of a cliff hanger. I NEED to find out how this story ends for every one.

What a great crime story heavy on the romance by Ms. Parr. Gabby is the owner of a coffee shop where Dylan comes in to break up with his flavor on the month. What happens when he decides he wants a taste of her someone his own age, is both sweet and at times funny, But a serial torturer is running wild in the city and taking female runners and hurting them, leaving them scared physically and emotionally. Gabby and her two best friends just happen to be runners. I loved this story full of twist and turns from page one to the last shocking page. If you like romance mixed in with your crime then this is the book for you. 5 star read.

This is Book #1 in the Sunrise Runners Duology.  This was a mixture of romance with a touch of suspense.  I love how this pulled me into wondering who the kidnapper was and why he did what he did.

My favorite part was when Gabriella and her employees got front row seats to Dylan and disaster of a dating life (read to find more out!).

☆☆☆☆☆
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I have read many, many, many suspense, crime, mystery, etc. At some point of every good story. You forget your reading and start building the story in your mind. What the characters look like, where they live and their personalities. Aubrey Parr did a wonderful job crafting her characters and their environment. Gabriella Winters is the main character and you are going RUN by her side and get an interesting view of her life and the 180 its about take.

Pretty good but strange and whacky at times. Here's what I didn't like :
Dylan almost cheating twice
Gabby not listening to her gut and constant eye rolls
No juicy love scene
It was fade to black after a tease
Here's what I did like :
Dylan coming to Gaby's rescue
Gabby's sense of humor
The way her PTSD was handled. Great job by the author
Gabby's two besties. She was very loved by a lot of good folks
The coffee shop and the employees
Decent read

Great beginning to a creative storyline by the author. I liked how the author kept you guessing as to who would want to harm these women who enjoy the hobby of running. I couldn't help but like Dylan's character as he seemed so caring when it came to Gabriela. I look forward to reading the other book in the duet.

It was so hard to put this book down. Dylan was so easy to like and Gaby was strong through her ordeal. It goes to show that no matter what you go through, sometimes, you need your own walking disaster. I can't wait to read the next book.

Loved this thrilling tale of a strong, independent heroine who meets the kind of alpha male that will melt your heart! Gabrielle and her friends *almost* made me want to take up running with a group of friends. The ending took me by surprise and left me hungry for the next book in this series!
