Our Unscripted Story

Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at sixteen, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn’t even get a year.

Five years later, I’m a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He’s a star on the rise; his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We’re older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we had been as teenagers.

My medium is words and my imagination is limitless, but not even I could have written the incredible journey we traveled to our happily-ever-after. Life isn't like fiction, and the greatest love stories don’t follow a script.

*****FIVE STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

He stood and reached for my hand. I didn’t know what it was about that moment, but it was one I knew I would remember always. The way he looked in the moonlight. His wide palm held out to me, the look of interest on his face that matched my own. I slipped my hand into his and knew with certainty that my life would never be the same.

I knew just after having read a few chapters of this book that this was going to be an epic love story. It was literally ”unputdownable”!! The story flows so perfectly. I love it when my attention is grabbed from the very beginning and is never lost throughout. There were never any moments of boredom for me. This book had it all. An endearing Heroine, a terrific plot, scorching hot steam, and a seriously charismatic Hero who I couldn’t help but fall in love with from the moment he enters the story. Greyson Ratcliffe is one of those book boyfriends that will sweep you off your feet so wholly and effortlessly.

Alexis Owens was abandoned by her parents when she was only two-years-old. All she has is an old letter from her father telling her that she is loved. She has been living with her foster parents for nearly fourteen years of her life and they were hardly what you would call ”loving” parental figures. They rarely paid much attention to her. She lived in their house as an invisible entity. Alexis turned to writing to ease her pain. She would create alternate realities through her stories and it helped her endure her dismal circumstances. While she wasn’t the most popular girl in school because to most she seemed a bit odd, she did have a few really close friends who became her surrogate family.

Her life is changed forever when she locks eyes with the most beautiful boy she’s ever seen on her favorite beach where she often goes to in order to be alone with her thoughts. She feels something pulling her to him and days after that one encounter, the boy has not left her thoughts in the least. She can’t believe her luck when he ends up being the new student at her high school and it gets even better when he walks into one of her classes.

For the first several chapters we get the story in Alexis’s POV and I was thinking that the entire book was only going to be in her narrative which I have to admit disappointed me because Greyson’s character was so intriguing from the very start that I was dying to know what was going on in his mind. I was ecstatic when the story then started to alternate between Greyson’s and Alexis’s POVs. To find out that he was feeling the same strong sense of connection to Alexis, had me floating on cloud nine.

Greyson has just moved from Ireland to the U.S. with his grandfather in order to pursue a very promising career as an artist. The plan is for Greyson to study with a world-renowned artist which will also include traveling around the globe to promote his art, right after his high school graduation. He never intended to fall in love so quickly with Alexis and now the thought of pursuing his dream and leaving her behind has left him with a heavy heart. While the two enjoy the short time they have together they both know that their love affair is nearing its end. Not only does Greyson have set plans for his future but Alexis also wants to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous writer. She has a full scholarship with NYU and her dream is to become a successful screenwriter for blockbuster Hollywood movies or a playwright for off-Broadway shows. While they would love nothing more than to stay together, they both know that the timing isn’t right for them but promise that in a few years they will reconnect and rekindle the love they shared.

Several years go by and Alexis has never forgotten about Greyson, nor has she moved on from him. He’s become a very famous and successful artist. His face is plastered on every magazine cover. If she even tried to avoid hearing about him, it would be nearly impossible. The two end up seeing each other again and it’s as if the years that were lost between them never existed. The spark is still very much alive and this time they vow that nothing will keep them apart. But there are threats looming over them that could potentially destroy their chance at happiness.

Here are my overall ratings:

I’m a true sucker for a second chance romance and Our Unscripted Story was one of the best that I’ve ever read. At first we’re introduced to young Alexis, whose life started out amidst hardship. Armed with her imagination and a family of friends, her life was going to be whatever she made it. An almost-meeting at her favorite place in town had her setting her eyes on Greyson and it was love at first sight for both of them. This simple encounter laid the foundation for an epic love story that spanned decades.

I loved everything about these characters. They had so much depth to them that they felt like people I would have in my real life. This author always finds a way to give her books a sense of sincerity that speaks to me each and every time. Alexis, even when she was young, had a level of maturity that belied her age. She was humble, talented, ambitious, understanding, compassionate, and extremely loving. For someone who didn’t experience a lot of love in the beginning, her capacity to love was outstanding. Greyson was also a sweetheart. His love and devotion to Alexis was something to be envied. Every time he spoke, I heard his Irish lilt. And he really was magical. He was sensitive, funny, and extremely kind-hearted.

Don’t even get me started on the side characters. From Greyson’s grandfather, to the twins (Dylan and Dominic), to the beautiful family that Paige and Grant created, Fiore did an excellent job of bringing these people to life. I adored them all and they each played almost as much of an integral role in this story as the main characters did. The author didn’t waste one moment of this book on frivolity or filler. Each segment gave me a genuine sense of rightness with this story and I couldn’t get enough. Whether I was basking in the pleasure of first love/last love or dwelling in the anguish built up from the bits of angst introduced, I read this book in a state of wonder.

I’ll say it again, Liz is one of my favorite authors of all time because everything she writes is gold. I cannot recommend her books enough to people. Her stories are honest, emotional journeys that need to be taken by everyone. Our Unscripted Story is a complex, heartfelt, touching, and sensual work of art that teaches the reader about love, life, forgiveness, family, and the beauty of second chances.

Title: Our Unscripted Story
Author: L.A. Fiore
Genre: Romance
Publication Date: March 29, 2018

ARC

It takes a special kind of author to weave a spell on its readers to captive them from the very first sentence to the very last. I knew I was going to like this book after the first chapter... Colour me wrong.. I loved this book. I can't recommend it enough!

I read this book a week ago then got food poisoning/ viral infection ( not related hahahha) but as I was lying in bed thinking I was close to death (dramatic but true story lol) I kept thinking about Our Unscripted Story and it made my heart break and made me love love even more.

I write this review, with what can only be described as honest to God, a slow death; from my bed, on a phone because you guys need to read this book... This book is pure love... It makes you want the love these characters have for each other.

Alexis and Greyson's love is pure magic. It's all consuming and it casts a spell of enchantment on it's readers (readers beware, those romantics at heart, this book will make you fall more in love).

Our Unscripted Story is beautiful and just when you think everything is fine and dandy, your heart breaks, you cry for these two people you don't even know...and it becomes a roller coaster of emotion, then you curse the author (sorry!) until you realise that the angst in this book is frustrating but it's the good kind of frustrating that keeps you reaching for the book again; it's the type of book you think of even days and weeks after you are done.

The tide of emotions this book brought into my life and the way it stuck through was a blessing and a curse.

I loved this book through every word, every sentence, every chapter.
I don't know how you do it L.A. fiore but you've done it yet again. I love you, your imagination, your brain, your neutrons and your words... Thank you for writing this book.

PS: Have I mentioned that I love stories about a family's history? Ooooooo I want to spill it but I'll just leave you with this, " Choose Love". 😏

L.A.Fiore presents Emotional sketches and Diaries full of Sentiments in Our Unscripted Story. There's no other way to describe it. Her deft hands type the words that just fastened to my heart. Can't believe I hadn't read her before or my "Friends"😡 didn't force me to read her before. I've had the fortune of meeting Ms. Fiore a couple of times and she's been very generous and gracious to us and hence my need to kick myself repeatedly, is pretty strong. I'm gonna make up for it for sure, LA!!!
Back to the story. The ardour and fervour displayed just makes your heart soar and you get to experience the fevers of first love again, heart thumping, adrenaline boosting rush of emotions that will hook you and make you remember your first crush and first love.
There's a town of Mendecino , where there's a Jetty. One fine day a beautiful young girl, Alexis Owens, all of sixteen and stars in her eyes, meets the boy who'll occupy her thoughts and words for the rest of her life.
“Greyson, from the moment I saw him, has been like that favorite tune you can’t stop humming; he’s a part of me, the very best part.”
Grayson Ratcliffe recalls the day in a a different way, albeit the effect is identical
“She entered my life on a beat-up second-hand bike and from the moment I saw her, she was it. She’s my heart.”
“She’s my muse.”

Of all the towns, on all of West coast, he had to land in hers!!!
They couldn't be more different socially, yet their hearts are so perfectly aligned, it's like cosmos shifted the planets to make way for them. Right from the onset, their thoughts, tastes, likes & dislikes match. They're kindred spirits meant for each other.
The story spans 20 years and we bear witness to sprouting of seedlings of love, thier nurturing into saplings and as the love grows and forests around them, getting thicker and denser, Greyson & Alexis are entwined in souls, inseparable in limbs. Life tides drift them apart, and they keep crossing paths off and on.

His dream of making it big in Art world and her dream of “The ultimate dream is to win an Academy Award for best adapted screenplay based on my international best seller.” forks their paths. They run parallel and sometimes their Ships pass in the night
She's been creating characters in her mind as a coping mechanism, ever since she was abandoned as a two year old. Why? .....(Read The Book) . Her wounds, painful and abcessive, are soothed by words that
embalm her damaged heart. That's how she starts scripting her love story.
I could admit deep down I was lonely. My birth parents abandoned me and my foster parents didn’t see me. I lived in my head so much because I was happier there.
Two things I MUST mention here.
It could've gone really heavy and depressively sad, but LA gives Alexis a helluva sense of humour. That girl is hilarious and uncoordinated, her mouth and brain stumbles over words and inappropriately mouths them out loud. Which makes it a very fun read
“I had our entire lives planned in the three minutes before the bell rang.
Secondly, and very unprecedented actually, the H & h are very open and in sync. They read each others thoughts, almost completeing each others sentences, so much so that there's no room for misunderstandings! . This concept or clarity of emotions was so novel and fresh , I almost fell for them again. All along the books you read couples split apart due to stupid and frivolous misunderstandings, just to create drama, where there's none.
This dynamic alone had me fangirling hard! This added to the perfectionism of their coupling.
“Promise you’ll always be around to talk me off the ledge.”“I promise. You promise me you’ll always be around for me to talk off the ledge.”
Easiest promise ever. I kissed him and said against his lips, “I promise.”

Their love story is stuff of Legends. Legends belonging to ancient times complete with castles, foggy moors, ancestral paintings and lost family heirlooms.

Now to the characters.
Alexis Owens I could feel in my bones, like she was me. I was her!!
Very smart and funny, vulnerable as a peach . She redesigns her own family .
Paige & Grant including Tara, Amanda & Heather are her family
Dylan & Dominic Cantanelli are almost her brothers.
Finn I wanted to read more about.
Mr. & Mrs. Cantanellis provide warm embraces that should belong to parents
Grayson Ratcliffe is a noble soul, loves so entirely, I was jealous of Alexis . His heart beats ONLY for Alexis, sees ONLY her, paints ONLY her. *sigh*😍
He's a Legendary Lover, very clear in his choice, solid in his stance
Their love starts, slows, goes dead, jump starts, breaks and sometimes bends. It's never a dull moment between them...Aye!

Life interrupts them a lot and many trials and tribulations later their Unscripted Love Story gets written
I wanted two more things from this book, if I may be so impudent in suggesting Ms Fiore
I wanted more upheaval and twists and blind turns.
Secondly more about his groupies/fans. Background, parallel narratives and their frenzied fandom.
But I loved the story. Her writing is so refined and smooth, I didn't wanna step away, even for a second. The characters she creates occupied my thoughts 24/7. I was rooting for them, cheering them on, crying for them and wanted to slap Grayson couple of times!
All good things come to an end and so did the book, but I'll pick her earlier work

DNF @30%. I heard from a good source that the overall pace of this story is consistent throughout the book, which makes it a great 5 star read for most readers, but unfortunately it put lonely ol me to sleep without the hope that anything in this book picks up. I was also told by said source that I’m getting pickier and crankier in my old age... so there’s that...

Let me warn you to be prepared to have your heart thrown in a blender of emotions not knowing if it will survive. This was an emotionally packed story of love, forgiveness, a second chance at life and living.

Now that Prologue had me in tears and I knew my heart would be put through the ringer and L.A. Fiore, my heart was not the same afterwards!!!

Alexis always asked herself Why? All she wanted was to be loved but unfortunately she would not get that from "The Monsters". She found her love and happiness from The Cantenelli's and their twin boys Dylan & Dominic. They were her saving grace and I knew that as long as they were in her life she would always feel what truly being loved was.

Alexis had such an imagination that one time that imagination came alive was when the new guy Greyson came into her life. Every time he was around her wild imagination would go into overdrive and what came out her mouth had me cracking up.

Greyson-straight out of Ireland- sweet, sexy accent and smitten with Alexis was just who Alexis needed in her life. He challenged her in ways that helped bring Alexis out of her shell.

Be warned that this is a long book BUT I.FLOVED.EVERY.WORD!!! I loved seeing what was happening when they graduated, when she found.....well I'll let you read it for yourself because I do not want to spoil it for you. But all in all this is by far one of my top 5 reads so far!!

Thank you L.A. Fiore, for such an unbelievably amazing love story that shows us that true love always wins! Kara~6 Stars

WOW! An epic first love that from the beginning felt completely right. Timing wasn't on their side but what was in their heart could outlast any obstacle put in front of them. I adored Alexis. Her strength, resilience, loyalty and heart. She never wavered, ever. She had her life completely upended and still found the good in situations. Her imagination kept her company and family was found around her. The background characters were solid and I found myself completely taken by everyone.

Then sitting in "her" place...she found the "one". The answer to if we have a soulmate. At a young age her heart found it's match. And the story that followed was incredibly beautiful, heartbreaking at times, lovable goodness that spanned years and brought every emotion front and center. I couldn't read it quickly enough. Ms. Fiore has a way of bringing out the angst that anyone that has read one of my reviews knows I LOVE. I really really felt this story. It was incredible.

Family is found. Regret is realized. Love is strong. And I loved every damn second of it.

L.A. Fiore is ALWAYS an automatic read for me. Our Unscripted Story had my attention from page one. It gutted me right off the bat. A lingering want haunted me as the story unfolded. I found myself rooting for a character I knew nothing about.

Throughout the storyline, we get the honor of watching Alexis grow up. Life threw punch after punch at her right out of the gate. It's in a simple blessing that she found her roots and it wasn't in foster monsters, but her neighbors. Alexis paved her own way in life guided by her imagination. Her love for storytelling was detailed in perfection by Fiore.

Enter Greyson...#swoon #accent #perfection! Alexis and Greyson knew their high school love wouldn't last forever because Greyson was destined for bigger and better things out in the art world.

I'm not going to give away too much of the story here. Just know it's painfully beautiful.

Fiore does a superb job of mixing in the right amount of heat, angst, and romance. She hooks you in at the first page. I devoured each sweet and tender word of Alexis' and Greyson's story and experienced one hell of a book hangover.

I think my heart was bleeding while reading this book. Gut wrenching, heart warming, just phenomenal!!

This story will have you at the prologue and you won't want to stop. I had to put it down a few times to meditate on what I just read and get my heart ready for more.

An amazing love story with heartache, joy, suspense and so many other emotions all wrapped up in a perfect package!

"My wish for you is to sing when you bake, to talk to the flowers, to walk in the rain, dance in the streets, to love until it hurts and most of all to live every day like it's your last."

What an incredible story!!! No matter the circumstances, love is love. You can't fight it or hide from it. I loved everything about this book! My heart was utterly wrecked more than once while reading. But the beauty outweighed all of it. Things happen in life that we cannot control. But with family and friends by your side it will be ok. LA Fiore delivered such an emotionally moving story line . There was love and lust. But also heartbreak and sorrow. Alexis has to be my one of my favorite characters. Honestly the entire cast of characters were absolutely amazing! Five brilliantly blazing stars!

“I need you to come back to me, beautiful.”

It seems like every single time this woman releases a book it ends up on my TOP FAVORITE LIST for the year, and her latest, Our Unscripted Story, is no different! This romance was absolutely MAGICAL! I loved it to the moon and back! It was a constant pull on my heartstrings and an even bigger pull on my emotions. I adored these incredible characters and their epic journey was, in one word, PERFECTION!

This was SO MUCH MORE than your typical love story. It had layer upon layer of intricate, poetic, and beautiful storyline. It had such a complexity and charm about it all…it just make it IMPOSSIBLE to put down, even for a second. The characters are unforgettable. The connection is undeniable. The writing is impeccable. L.A. Fiore is one of THE BEST storytellers out there today and I’m so incredibly happy to have her words in my life!

Congratulations Ms. Fiore … that was

I just finished reading “Our Unscripted Story” and I find myself writing one of my “Dear Author” reviews simply because it is hard not to address you personally with what I have to say.
Congratulations – simply because you just “ran over” Ms. Hoover on the pole position of the ugly cry reads. She was holding that No 1 position since she made me cry in reading under 10% of Confess…. YOU … on the other hand only needed 5% - so yeah there is that.

And there might be a second writing Oscar going to you because you kept me crying the longest during a book in … well (#MeThinking) – I guess this is a first as I cannot remember ever crying this long. I really had a problem reading for a few chapters ( I already told you which chapters that were so I do not need to spoiler this to the other readers here ) …

I really hope I get a chance sometime to discuss with you face to face what your writing does to readers like me. Sure – I already had an idea because - hey lets face it – you have a writing style that is not that easy to forget. And probably the playlist you placed in front of the story should have also warned me because of “Supermarket Flowers”

When I read your book “A Glimpse of the Dream” I thought it would be impossible to ever recreate that feeling between the leads that you managed in that book. But again Greyson and Alexis will take the readers on a journey that covers a lot of time and develops over years which is one of your signature traits and I love it when you do that. . But you not only did that – no you did more – for spoiler reasons I cannot tell the fellow readers what evoked that feeling in me but I think this book just took a space in my heart and will remain there.

This book covers – space and time and I have a hard time deciding which characters were the best ones. As strange as it may sound I think I would like to know Grant’s story and I also sense a story behind the twins.

Greyson is simply incredible but if you would force me to pick a favorite than you would receive an answer that probably would be another first. As I cannot remember ever picking a female as my favorite.
But here I am Team Alexis ALL THE WAY.
This girl is just unbelievable, dedicated, honest, loyal and simply incredible.

Your characters are the most alive ones I encountered in a long time.

I agree with you … you do not simply let a person READ your books. No – your readers have to work for it. The story does not simply come to them - your readers have to go there and pick it up … dive inside, hold on tight while they will suffer (and believe me they will) and the characters will stick with the readers until they are finished with them – not the other way around.

The plot asked for things to happen and I as a reader expected things to go a certain way… I was looking over my shoulder always worried THIS would be the moment – but the plot was so wide spread that it is impossible to keep your eyes on every string so I was never prepared for what actually happened no matter how hard I tried.

Our Unscripted story had my laughing and crying
It ripped my heart out and patched it together again
Just to shred it to pieces as soon as I felt it would be safe to breath again

I recommend a huge box of tissues, chocolate, tea/coffee or even something stronger to go with it. To complete the setting I suggest a blanket, a candle or if you have a fireplace.

This past year has been very stressful for me and because of that, I hardly read. But when L.A. Fiore sends me an early copy, I drop everything and just read it. Her words are like medicine and they always come right when I need them.
As always, this book left me breathless. I had to gather my thoughts in order to write this review.
Our Unscripted Story is about two beautiful artistic young souls - Alexis and Greyson - who meet at the age of 16 and 18. They are drawn to one another and fall in love - the kind of love I'm sure we all want. I know I do. As much as their love for each other is pure and strong, Greyson has to leave to fulfill his life's dream – to become a successful artist. He paints like no other and the road is amazingly open for him to get to the top. Alexis too has a dream - to become a professional writer. Her words are her shelter, her friends, her family, her everything - but so is Greyson. After years of separation they reunite and their life together is magical, until it's not...
This story... Wow... It filled me with so many emotions, that my heart couldn't take it anymore. The good, the bad, the PERFECT, the not so much - they all touched every little piece of me. L.A. knows how to do that, and she does it beautifully with each and every book she writes. She not only writes words and beautiful stories - she touches souls, and I'm so grateful to be one of those souls. Perfectly written and highly recommended book - five shining stars and so many more.

***5 ‘Love Looked Back’ Stars***

This book grabbed hold of my heart from the first words and did all kinds of crazy things to it as this epic love story unfolded. My heart ended up being pulled in so many directions it was crazy, it got all kinds swoony and twitterpated, it hurt so much it broke and at one point it wanted to grab a 2x4 and smack some sense into people. With this plethora of feels going on, it also had the effect of making me all kinds of teary ~ and it didn’t matter if it was because the situation was all kinds of swoon worthy or frustrating ~ water wanted to come out of my eyes (It was quite distressing since I was at work). But that was the effect this book, these characters ~ ALL of the characters ~ had on me and despite this strange onslaught of feels, I’d go through it all over again in a heartbeat.

I adored Alexis. This girl is strength personified because despite the hand fate has dealt her she still finds the goodness in it and shares it with those around her. But what I loved about her was how real she was. She was sweet and sassy and awkward and confident all at the same time and she owned it all and it was amazing.

Greyson. This guy has serious book boyfriend mojo going on. He was all kinds of sweet, flirty and yet had that alpha edge that drew you to him. He owned himself and was confident in who he was, but it never came off as him being full of himself. There was an openess in all that he did and I loved how he saw the world around him and those who inhabited it.

As I said in the beginning, this is an epic love story, from their first collision through the ups and downs of their life choices, as well as those that others brought about, to their ultimate HEA, it was absolutely obvious that they were meant for each other. The swoons were real when they were together, they flowed so well together that it was easy to get lost in them and watch as their connection grew stronger. Of course there are bumps, some are huge, some aren’t, but they happen and Alexis and Greyson navigate around and through them and get an amazing HEA in the end.

But no epic love story could be complete without the help of others and this book has an amazing supporting cast of characters. I can’t just pick one favorite, I can easily pick the ones I didn’t like. But regardless of my feelings towards them, they were all well written and really brought depth to the world and insight into who Alexis and Greyson really were and who they would eventually become.
I could go on and on, and into even more detail, about all that this book has to offer, but I’m going to cut myself off before spoilery stuff happens. Our Unscripted Story is simply everything you could want in a romance and more.

I just finished Our Unscripted Story this morning, sitting at my desk in my classroom, praying that my eyes no longer look red and puffy when my students enter the room. I truly cannot express how much I adored Alexis and Greyson’s love story; it’s emotional…it’s passionate…it’s as heartwarming as it is heartbreaking…it’s a first love, last love book that illustrates just how powerful a connection can be formed with just one look…one word…one embrace. L.A. Fiore takes her readers on one hell of an epic journey – one that not only spans decades and continents, but also provides readers with a clear view of just how much people are willing to sacrifice when it comes to the people they love, even if it destroys them in the process.

Alexis and Greyson’s story began when they were teens and even though they took their own paths, which separated them for a significant amount of time, they promised one another they would find their way back because a love like theirs was meant to last forever, so as their story unfolds, it’s divided into three parts, and those parts show readers their lives as young adults, their individual lives as they work to achieve their dreams and goals, and the moments when their lives become one again, building off of their bond that was formed all those years ago and adding a deeper connection – one where promises and vows are made, which tether them together always, despite the obstacles and difficulties that force their way in and threaten to undo everything they’ve built since they were teens.

Alexis Owens is an incredibly strong heroine who uses her imagination and her words to help her cope with the reality of her childhood, and it’s that ability that allows Alexis to remain positive and hopeful despite the neglect…despite the loneliness…despite her unwavering desire to have the fairy tale life that she so easily loses herself in on a daily basis. But her life is not always a struggle; in fact, when Greyson Ratcliffe enters her life she finds her soul mate, and even though she understands that their paths will lead them away from each other, it’s with the understanding that their love will not dull even when they’re apart because one fateful meeting is all it took to know that there will come a time again when they will be together forever.

Greyson Ratcliffe is an amazing artist who captures beauty in every piece that he creates, but where he finds his home is in Alexis’ enchanting eyes. Greyson is driven to succeed and it’s that determination that not only makes him a successful artist but it’s what allows him to endure the years that Alexis is not by his side. Greyson is everything a hero should be, and it’s not because of his gorgeous physical appearance. He’s kind, giving, and so in love with Alexis that he only ever sees her…she’s his end game…she’s his everything, so even though they spent five years apart, she’s never far from his mind and she definitely never leaves his heart.

‘Life wasn’t like the fiction I wrote. It didn’t follow a script; it didn’t have a formula. Our story was still being written, unscripted, real…’

Alexis’ words will resonate with readers because she understands just how ‘unexpected’ life can be, and she sure as heck would not have scripted her separation from her parents, her mistreatment by her foster parents, or the heartbreak that comes into her life. Life is real. Life is difficult. Life is impulsive. Life is all about weathering the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the losses and the gains. And it’s that idea that drives both Alexis and Greyson to make the events of their life as full and as passionate as they can, and while sometimes, life throws them a curveball, they work that much harder to roll with the punches until the reality of their lives positions them together with a lifetime to create their story – one that began with one look and hopefully will end just as it began that day they first noticed each other and made their dreams a reality.

I can’t end my review without mentioning the secondary characters who become Alexis and Greyson’s family. The Cantenellis, Paige and Grant and their daughters, and Greyson’s grandfather, Callum, add so much to Alexis and Greyson’s life: history, love, support, and a multitude of memories that will last a lifetime. And it’s those bonds that help both Alexis and Greyson to cope with the loss of their parents, the loss of one another for those five years, and they are definitely the people who have their backs, call them out on their lunacy and give them a place to safely fall when things become too overwhelming. Alexis and Greyson may not have had their parents with them as they grew up and became successful, but they were not without family, and it’s the ones who choose to be with you that come to mean everything.

Every time I enter one of L.A. Fiore’s stories, I’m swept away by her beautiful words…by her descriptive storytelling…by her multifaceted characters. Her love stories illustrate just how much work a relationship takes as well as just how much a love like that is worth the heartache, the pain, and the fear that come with giving someone else your heart. There’s definitely a risk in loving someone so intensely because a life without them isn’t worth living, but to not have experienced that kind of love, regardless of the amount of time you have together, is a fate worse than loneliness.

Alexis and Greyson’s story is one that will stay with me for quite some time, and there’s a bevy of reasons why, but the one idea that I keep coming back to is the fact that Our Unscripted Story is an honest and open love story – one that allows both main characters to find their own successes and one that allows them a way back to one another. It’s a hopeful story despite the sadness, and it’s one spectacular love story despite their time apart and the missteps they take when they’re together.

It’s amazing what can be made with words and hands alone, and whether it be a work of art, a fictional story, or family’s history brought to life, all mediums provide the imagination the limitless opportunity to explore, to create, and to cherish.

Being the second book by L.A. that I have read, I can honest to goodness say that, she has a forever fan. I have never read a book that flows so well, Yes this book spans a couple of decades and there are three parts, but going from one part to another did not leave me feeling as if it just stopped and she picked up and threw words together to get the book finished. It was very well plotted, and there was a consistency to the words of the story that make it feel not rushed, but a steady flow. I have never read a story more beautiful. I felt the words on the pages flow to my heart and take root there. This is a heart felt, love of all love story that will stay with you for a life time.

From Page one I was hooked. The prologue gutted me. I literally felt my heart being ripped to shreds, but oh so steadily being put together as I turned page after page, chapter after chapter, part after part, until L.A. gave the most deserving ending to this story. This story will make you feel every emotion that each character goes through, but I GUARANTEE you, that every emotion you go through, you will never feel an emotion as strong as a love like this, pouring deep into your soul from a beautiful story like this. I honest to goodness don't think I have ever read a book that made me feel a love like this. You know what, in fact I know I have not. So for that, I tip my hat off to you L.A.

I am not going to say much in the way of Alexis and Greyson for the simple fact that this is a story that is more than deserving of your full attention. Alexis and Greyson deserve to tell their story, in their own words for you to better understand why each choice is the one they make rather than someone spoil it. Besides that, I couldn't even put into words what needs to be said. So go in blindsided, go in with an open heart and let yourself feel the emotions that both Alex and Greyson fell. It is worth that and more. Our Unscripted Story is beautiful, it is raw and just so deserving. Just do yourself a favor and buy this book, you will not regret it.

I've been a fan of LA Fiore for awhile now, and this book is her very best work. From the backstory of the prologue through the decades that come, this book grabs your feelings and doesn't let go.

This book cherishes all the best parts of love, forgiveness, fidelity, sacrifice and even frustration. This book is INTENSE in so many ways. I found myself wanting to chuck my kindle across the room, and I rarely find myself so engaged in a book to care that much.

Greyson is perfectly imperfect. He is loyal, he is kind, and he is creative. I love how much he loves the people in his life, how loyal he is to those he cares about. But, he's also human and makes mistakes and I love that about him.

This story doesn't follow any trope i've read recently. So many times i thought 'here we go, down the 'other woman' path or 'here's this trope again', only to be completely thrown off. You will be surprised by the path this book takes. It feels real and deals with things in ways i've not seen in any other love stories.

Read this book! You'll be surprised, engaged and feel all the things!

Be still my beating heart, my soppy emotional broken sad romantic loved up happy happy heart

Have you like me been waiting on a story about a man who loves a woman, one woman THE woman if yes then you will love Greyson.

LA Fiore never disappoints with her characters and story they always bring out intense emotions in me and I always fall in love with at least one of them.

This is not a story where they meet fall in love & live happily it’s a story spanning years in the lives of Greyson and Alexis. A love story like nothing I’ve read before, a young love a sweet love a separated love.

A beautiful story expertly written that stole my heart. Another fabulous story by this author.

Our Unscripted Story by L.A. Fiore is the story of Greyson and Alexis.
This stars with watching Alexis go through her life from an early time jumping through different parts of her life. We see her meeting Greyson when he was the new kid in town. Go forward to her making of her life. We then see Greyson and Alexis meeting up again in a different point in their lives. Alexis had been giving a hard life even though it started with love but sadly it took a bad turn. Greyson was a great main character but Alexis was the one that stole at the heart strings. This was a really great second chance at love!
This book hooked you in from the start an hard to put down.

"Life isn't like fiction, and the greatest love stories don’t follow a script." L.A. Fiore not only has an incredible gift of story telling but she also paints the story in such clear vivid images that you feel as though you are living in the moment with her characters. Alexis and Greyson have a chance encounter on Alexis' jetty. The moment is captured and thought to be fleeting. They then meet again in school and the slow dance on how their beautiful relationship comes to be is incredible to watch. Alexis is funny and quirky, passionate and feisty, compassionate and loves with her whole being. Greyson has a wonderful sense of humor, is spontaneous and so hot and swoon worthy and is as enamored with Alexis as she is with him. Both Alexis and Greyson have suffered pain due to loss which connects them even deeper. Just as their new love blossoms the two are torn apart as Greyson pursues his art career. They vow to stay connected but life isn't that easy. Five years later and they are reconnected and it's as if no time has separated them. I fell in love with Alexis' adopted families and Greyson's grandfather. This story is about unconditional love and protecting it fiercely. You will be deeply affected by this beautiful story of hope and love.

Our Unscripted Story takes you on a journey spanning many years. Right from the prologue, Fiore’s words reach through your chest and give your heart a good squeeze. With each passing chapter, you get to know the characters more, and grow more attached as time goes by.

From the moment they met, there was something that drew Greyson and Alexis together. Even when faced with years of separation, they had a connection that could not be broken. Quite simply put, they were meant to be. Through the years, we see the characters grow both apart and together. Everything is not perfect, they deal with their share of ups and downs, but one thing that remains constant is their pure love and devotion to each other.

Two amazing artists, one beautiful love story. Fiore delivers a captivating, and highly entertaining read. If you want something with romance, suspense, steam, heart, and a few good laughs, Our Unscripted story is a must read!

This book spanned decades, but the author made it flow perfectly. She was able to grip me right from the start and I walked away with a bigger heart and so full of emotions that I didn’t know weather I would cry tears of happiness, or be devastated that it was over.

One thing I love about this author is the fact that she writes her books like she was there. Like she loved though what happened and is just giving us her life experiences, and this book was no different.

The romance was the main factor of this book but it was so much deeper then boys meets girl, boy and girl fight and break up, and then they come tother and have a happy ending. It was complex and eye opening all on its own.

There is so much that happened, I could really ramble all day about it, but it’s one of those epic love story’s that you have to experience. From the humor, to the closeness of the characters (secondary characters included.)

I’m the end, this book is an amazingly unique, perfect and just the right amount of drama to keep you on the edge, the right about of steam (even though Grayson and Alexis have a love that we can only hope for) but it is one of those utterly beautiful love story that spanned decades! 5 stars because I can’t give it more. #2OCCJD

Our Unscripted Story is another beautifully heart wrenching novel from the amazing L.A Fiore, she knows how to keep the pages turning, taking us on a beautiful journey and leaving me wanting to visit so many places just by the words she writes.
Alexis young life was changed at the flick of a switch, she was taken from everything she knew and given to the Monsters but as many of us say its not blood that makes a family it those we surround ourselves with and as Alexis was surrounded by people who loved her fiercely and love she felt early on in life continued to grow. She's socially awkward, funny and loyal to her friends after all these are her family.
Greyson moves across the pond from Ireland after loosing his parents to peruse a career that his parents knew he would shine at, he needs to complete his education and with only several months left he finds himself in the same place as Alexis, the pull they have to each other is completely energized you feel through the words of this beautiful book.
This story spans many decades but flows effortlessly, we get to see Alexis and Greyson grow and both pursue their careers but what happens when life comes full circle for Alexis is she strong enough to deal, will she fight, give up or will those around her fight for her, well that's where you need to add this book to your to be read list or simply 1 click and find out. Truly amazing so worth more than 5 stars.

Beautifully written, beautifully presented.

This needs to be read along with a large bottle of wine, a huge bar of chocolate and a box of tissues.

The prologue was heart breakingly beautiful. I loved that this book, Alexis and Greyson's story is in three parts and whilst I took my time in the beginning, rationing myself to bath time reading only! But after about 60% in I NEEDED to finish their story.

Goodness!! you ripped out my heart and through all of their ups and downs pieced it back to together.

I loved the historical element, it gave the story a multi-faceted element. The never ending love that was present throughout, from Alexis's parents to Paige and Grant and even the lovely menagerie of pets.

I loved how incredibly strong Alexis is and so forgiving, from the school bullies to the love of her family. She is a very compassionate lady, with an amazing heart, who totally deserves to get her HEA.

Greyson, the new boy! he too was an incredible guy, he knew what he wanted and was not afraid to go after it.

They were a formidable team, with an amazing network of friends, able to take on all of life's quests.

Callum, Greyson's granddad was a very interesting, all knowing chap and added a calming aspect to Alexis and Greyson's story.

This was Alexis and Greyson's story but each and every character played an equal part in their story, right down to Bugger and Benny and Joon.

A lovely story with all the feels, I went through a myriad of emotions, I laughed, swooned and bloody cried. Really enjoyed this.

Wow what a beautifully written, heartbreaking and emotional story this is!!!

Just be aware that this book will suck you in and almost break you by the end of it, but it's such a beautiful sweet pain that the trip and emotional high is so very worth it.

LA Fiore has created a story that is about love, loss and friendship, it touches on some very adverse situations that can and do happen in real life. Her characters are put through so much pain and misery that I was a sobbing mess for a lot of this book but Alexis and Greyson are both such strong and wonderful characters that they can and do survive everything that gets thrown at them.

The writing flowed so well that I just couldn't put this book down, I became enraptured, captivated, I was totally and utterly addicted. I felt every hurt, pain and emotion. This has got to be in my top five ugly cry books ever.

I cannot express how much I loved this book but I also hated it with equal measure. Be sure to read this book with plenty of tissues, chocolate biscuits and lots of cups of hot tea as it will leave you so raw that you will need them to seek comfort in.

One of the best books that I have read so far this year and I highly recommend you put this on your TBR list. It's an amazing read.
