Just because opposites attract, doesn’t mean they belong together...

Professional hockey player Royce Lenahan is no stranger to chaos. He grew up surrounded by it, so as an adult he likes things nice and orderly: His apartment, his hockey schedule, even his dates. When his best friend and teammate asks him to take his visiting sister to a rock concert, he isn’t expecting the sultry, leather-clad vixen that has his jaw dropping.

Force of nature Kristina Papadakis feels like two separate people sometimes: The demure, proper Greek girl she was raised to be, and the badass rock musician she could be. She’s never had a problem keeping her worlds apart until her brother’s straight-laced but oh-so-hot teammate stumbles into both of them, creating a collision she wasn’t looking for.

As Royce and Tina explore an unexpected but undeniable passion, they soon discover that love isn’t always enough. Opposites might attract, but they’ll have to learn to compromise if they want to last. Royce has to be willing to give up control long enough to tame Tina’s gypsy soul, before she wanders away for good.

4.5 out of 5 hot ice stars - Don't be intimidated by "Book 10". You can jump in here but you will most likely want to go and read about the other hot members of the Las Vegas Sidewinders. Royce is the "quiet one". Friends on the surface but intense/driven underneath. His friend and team mate Dimitri needs someone to go with his little(?) sister to a concert while they are in New York City. Little did Royce know that Dimitri's little sister is not so little any more. Tina is an adult and she has hopes and dreams, goals that she has not shared with others. She does not need to be babysat by one of her brother's team mates. When the two meet up for the concert, the night takes an interesting turn and the temperature begins to sizzle between the two of them. I am currently cheering on team Royce.

I absolutely loved this book and was hooked from page one. Royce definitely was the complete opposite of Kristina (Tina). He’s so uptight and controlled while she’s a free spirit, very artsy. But they sure are attracted to each other. Loved getting updates of prior characters too, loved each book in this series. My heart ached for them, are they just too different to make things work out? I didn’t expect to cry but I was heartbroken when he messes up. Will she give him another chance? No worries, there’s a very happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

5 star Review Las Vegas Sidewinders: Royce (# 10) by Kat Mizera
This was a great hockey story which I was totally engrossed in from start to finish. Why this is my first book by Kat Mizera, I have absolutely no idea, but it will not be my last.
I loved Royce Lenahan, a professional hockey player and Kristina Papadakis (Tina), a not so traditional Greek woman whom I really gravitated too.
As Royce and Tina explore their unexpected passion and love of music, it is obvious that although there is a great deal of chemistry, there are also issues which will make their relationship more like a roller coaster ride. Opposites can and do attract but is that enough to sustain a relationship? Royce has so many obvious issues that he needs to come to terms with from his past, before they can attempt a life together or are they destined to explode?
I swiftly became invested in Royce and Tina’s story. This was a well written story of love, forgiveness and acceptance. It will tug at your emotions and was at times an emotional read as Royce and Tina struggled to compromise, without losing themselves. I really felt for both Royce and Tina, however, at times Royce really was a jerk and I wanted to smack him across the back of his head and tell him to wake up.
I loved all the secondary characters and as and when time permits I will be reading the previous books in the series. I cannot wait until the next book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series.

I really can’t believe I’m so late getting into the game for this series and I will certainly be reading all the books I have missed as soon as time permits. Royce hooked me from the very first page and there was no putting down until I had read the last line .....
Two opposites who happen to be very attracted to each other, is this a recipe for love or for disaster. Royce is quirky, uptight and controlling while Tina is carefree and lives her life exactly how she wants too but the chemistry is sizzling and sparks fly from the moment they meet, the problem is will the attraction be enough or will Royce and Tina be better off apart even if that makes them miserable.....
If you love Hockey I would recommend you get your one click finger clicking because this is hockey and romance at its best, you will laugh, you will want to bang Royce and Tina’s heads together at some point or another and most importantly you will relate and love the characters past and present in this great series. Looking forward to my next read from the Sidwinders Hockey Team.

Love hockey romance? Love brother's best friend romance? If you answered yes to even one of those then this is a book for you. Royce is an amazing read. I love how Kat Mizera pulls you into the hockey world like no other. Royce is supper uptight and has a few issues. But once you see past all that you will totally swoon for him. Tina is amazing and a Jackie of all trades. I love her big heart and how she just does her own thing. Royce is Tina's brothers roommate and man do the sparks fly once those two are alone together. Tina couldn't be more perfect for Royce. He is someone that needs to come out of his comfort zone that's for sure. I love them together and you will too. Even if you may not be familiar with the Sidwinders series this is a book worth picking up and fall in love with the men of the Sidewinders. Go one click this one.

This is the first book i've read by this author and i thoroughly enjoyed it, proving that although its book 10 in the series its not essential to read the other books first.
Royce is a bit uptight and likes everything tidy and in order after living with an artsy usually late for everything parent hes went the complete opposite way.
Tina is the opposite very arty, with no set schedule and enjoying life.
Due to Royces need for control in his life there relationship is very turbulant, in order for them to compromise Royce need to let go and face his past, his father telling him hes an arsehole for the way he's treat his mother over the years is the push he needs to do that.
An emotional rollercoaster of a romance, which I loved.
I will certainly be reading more of the books in this series.

A mismatch made in heaven has to first make it's way through hell. Mizera keeps it naughty with an enchanting tale of opposites and the people who love them. Royce and Tina look at the world differently. Royce needs order to help him unwind and Tina needs chaos to help her feel alive. When their two worlds meet it's a personality clash with explosive results. Can the planner and the free spirit survive the drama of falling in love? Mizera never ceases to tempt with humor and heart. A wickedly sexy read.

This is another great book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Royce and Tina are complete opposites. Royce loves everything organized and complete control of his life. Tina has an artistic heart and loves to let go and enjoy life. You would've think these two would work, but they do. I fell in love with these two instantly. They helped balanced each other out. I did feel for both of them. Royce had a hard time letting go though he really needed to (I loved the conversation his dad had with him) and Tina had a hard time always sticking to Royce's orderly needs. It broke my heart when they couldn't keep their relationship going, though I think the time helped. As usual the secondary characters were wonderful and really added dimension to the story. I love that this team tries to help each other out when they can. I loved meeting Casey. She was a great friend and so down to earth. Great story! Looking forward to more (especially Zaan's story cause he sounds interesting). *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*

Tina and Royce are so flaming hot together, but they are so real. They have problems like every couple; they’re human. The emotional roller coaster that this slightly kinky romance took me on, was thrilling and I didn’t want to get off.
There were moments I wanted to shake them, but I got the feeling that what was happening needed to so the two of them could truly give themselves a chance at Forever.

I highly recommend this book!

I loved Royce and Tina’s story. Hockey is one of my favorite sports so it automatically drew me in since Royce is a hockey player. As the story progressed I found myself intrigued and quickly turning pages wanting to find out what happens. Royce is quirky and has a lot of issues to work out. Tina is more carefree so when these two get together, sparks do fly but problems arise. Can these two work things out and be together or will they go their separate ways and be miserable? A great sports romance that will have you both loving and frustrated with the characters and their antics.

Royce can be an indecisive man, “because you’re gorgeous and I can’t decide if I want to ravage you again, order room service, or drag you into the shower with me.” Royce loves to shower his girl with compliments, “every time I see you in anything my ***k gets hard,” he countered..." Tina always wants to keep her man in good spirits, “are you grouchy, honey? Do you need a blow job?” I liked this book, I liked Royce.

Royce is a professional hockey player who has control issues that border on OCD tendencies, and needs everything in his life to go according to plan. However, when his best friend & teammate asks him to take his sister to a concert for him, Royce agrees, but little did he know that Kristina, aka Tina, Papadakis would shake his orderly life up. He was warned that she's flighty, but he didn't take heed to it, especially since their chemistry was shooting sparks everywhere. Tina feels like her life isn't her own with her overprotective family, and even when she meets Royce, he feels the need to ask her brother for permission to hang out with her. But when she ends up in their neck of the woods for work, she & Royce finally give their connection a chance, but will their differences be too much to overcome? This was a great story that I just couldn't get enough of to be honest. Royce had a big heart, but he just was too uptight at times, and it drove me nuts, even though I'm OCD myself. Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense, and I can't even tell you why he drove me nuts, but he did. Hell, with the way I love my neat & orderly life, I can't even tell you why that I LOVED me some Tina, but I know that I would want to be besties with her. Anyway, I'm getting off track. Their sparks ignited for some super sexy times that lit the sheets on fire, which was a great thing. And they did try to communicate through their differences so many times. However, Royce is a man, and he was realistic, so he made some questionable douchey decisions. Then some twists came out to play, which means the f-bombs dropped out loud, and thankfully, there was a cast of secondaries who were there to give out hard truths, along with laughter. I loved this story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

ROYCE is book 10 in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. There's several connected characters but this is easily a book that can be read as a standalone.

Royce Lenahan is a six year veteran of the Sidewinders hockey team. He's worked really hard to build his dream, regardless of his less than normal childhood. When his best friend, Dmitri, asks him to take his baby sister to a rock concert, Royce is completely unprepared for the whirlwind that is Kristina "Tina" Papadakis.

So, this is one of those rare instances where I loved the heroine more than the hero. Tina was a bohemian blast of fun! She was creative, talented, loyal, unafraid and uninhibited. She had a huge amount of ambition and I admired her spirit and her strength. But she was the absolute opposite of Royce. It wasn't that Tina was lacking complete structure or was a big partier or anything like that. Truly, her only crime was being artistic and maybe a bit laid back. Royce, however, craved control in ALL aspects of his life. Which is fine to a certain extent until he tries to mesh his life with Tina. I found Royce to be rigid, inflexible about a lot although there were times when he seemed to let go and really live, mostly when he was around Tina. But when their chemistry boiled over and became undeniable? He was an alpha worth drooling over!

There's a bit of the forbidden aspect in the best friend's younger sister angle but mostly, this is an easy drama that follows two opposite people who look for happiness in each other. Four solid stars! Told from dual POVs with a delightfully sweet ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Love and hockey are the best…

The Las Vegas Sidewinders is one of my favourite sports romance series, ever! Drama is the key and that has meant tension, emotional highs and lows, and lots and lots of heat. A high bar to reach but Tina and Royce made it look effortless…

Staid and structured. Easy-going and bohemian. On the surface, Tina and Royce had little in common and two very different approaches to life. Tina worked hard toward her goals but that didn’t mean she couldn’t have fun too! And if she could work at what she loved even better. Royce had one goal and one approach to achieving it, never straying from the course he’s set. How they could blend their lives together was the challenge but the way they figured it out? Oh man, was it sinfully interesting…

They fought, loved, and laughed in a secretive romance with surprises at every turn, with passion and tension hugging each curve. While not the over the top drama that I’ve come to know (and love) from this series, there were plenty of missteps and stumbles to ramp up the emotion-o-meter to more than satisfying levels…

This was romance with friendship, family and love at its heart. In other words – it had it all!

Kat Mizera lights the lamp with ROYCE, the tenth book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Hockey star Royce Lenahan’s best friend and teammate, Dmitri Papadakis, asked him to take his little sister, Kristina, to a rock concert. She’s not the quiet girl with glasses that he remembered. She is free-spirited, the opposite of his programmed lifestyle.

I like Tina and Royce. They have different personalities. She is artistic, free-spirited, and spontaneous. Royce is a great athlete, organized, and scheduled. They are both hard working. Royce is a bit uptight and Tina is the perfect person to loosen him up.

I enjoyed the plot. The couple had many interesting obstacles to overcome. There were significant life lessons. I appreciated the similarities between Tina and Royce’s mom. I like Casey Hart and Jayson Keller. I enjoyed what they added to the story. I thought it was clever how Royce and Tina met them.

ROYCE was skillfully written and entertaining. It is a perfect addition to the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

What happens when opposites attract? We, the reader, get a great story from Kat Mizera in her Sidewinders series. I loved Royce and Tina's story and I love the author gives us a look back at some of my favorite characters from past books in the series. These two were back and forth and had their ups and downs, but it made for a great story and if you don't know this series, what are you waiting for?? ~helen

I love Royce so Much! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic's Read

Royce and Tina.... well what do I say... I love Royce's character so much. There were times that I wanted to cry for him. He is carrying around some deep emotional damage from his upbringing that definitely overshadows his relationship with Tina. When these two are on the course for being in love.. hearts get broken and lives are changed. This is my two favorite Sidewinders book.

Royce grew up amidst chaos, so he always told himself he would live with more rules and regiments as he got older. He likes everything to be just so, and does not like chaos. When Tina comes into his life, his world is turned upside down. Their romance is a whirlwind one, both falling hard, but they soon find out that love isn’t always easy. Sometimes, letting the person you love go can help save you both.

I enjoyed this story and I’d recommend this book.

I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.

This book was beyond wonderful. I did not just fall in love with Royce, I also fell in love with side characters in this story like Casey. (please write a story for her). Casey is a rock singer and the female lead in this story, Tina loves her music and so at the start of the book, Royce is asked by his teammate , roomie and bestie to take Tina to Casey's concert in NYC where she lives and he is visiting.

Casey has two kids and they are at the concert. Royce realizes they are in danger and he ends up protecting them. That leads him and Tina into a friendship with Casey. Casey is also a big hockey fan and also lives in Vegas. She invites Tina to come to Vegas for work and that is how Royce and Tina really spend time together and get to know each other.

This story is about Royce and Tina and how and if they can make the relationship work. Royce was a tough character. He is very ADD and he gets irritated very easily but he really likes Tina even if she drives him a little bonkers. I loved how realistic this story was to some degree.

Love takes work and compromise and that really is what this story is about. It is extremely well written and features characters from the entire series though it easily stands alone.

This is book #10, in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to enjoy and understand the series, I recommend reading this series in order.

Royce is a professional hockey player who likes things to be just so. What he never sees coming is the little sister of his best friend. She is all woman and he has no problem taking notice.

Kristina is a proper Greek girl, at least some of the time. Other times, she is a real rock guru and future star. She notices Royce after an incident that they both barely make it through. She also notes how much more of a gentleman, and what a caring individual he can be.

This was such an amazing book. I loved getting to know these characters. No one expects either of them to come out of their comfort zones - so it was awesome to read about! There are some familiar characters you will see in this story as well. Never disappointed with this great series.

This one was just ok for me. Part of it is I'm wondering where the book is that Dimitri and Angel get together. I feel like I was missing something, but when I look at the book series order I'm not missing anything. The other part is Royce was meh...for me. So bland and boring. I liked Tina, but man did she have to change so much around Royce. When things got bad for them, she even mentioned it felt like she was walking around on egg shells and she was. Royce had issues, it was nice to see him work on them, but it came after loosing Tina, after his dad ripped him a new one, after getting hurt, pretty much loosing it all and he was forced to realize people were right. Now with that said, I was glad to see how this one ended, glad that they worked things out.

Kat Mizera has again brought us another fantastic, hot hockey romance with Royce and the Las Vegas Sidewinders! I have been a fan of this series for a long time and this story has moved up to my favorite!
When they say opposites attract they weren’t kidding when it came to Royce and Tina. He is a bit uptight and needs to have control over his everything in his life. She is a free spirit who is laid back and carefree. Their chemistry, however is off the charts. So, now Royce and Tina need to find a way to compromise to bring out the best in each other in order to blend their personalities and their lives.
This book is worth your time and I know you will fall in love with Royce and Tina as much as I have.

Fantastic Book!

I love Hockey romance and Kat writers fantastic ones! I love the Sidewinders!
Royce was amazing! Tina was Royce’s best friends sister. Royce is a little uptight liking to have everything controlled and organized. Tina is laid back and artistic. Everyone thinks she is flighty but she’s actually working to open her own travel agency. Tina can’t be more perfect for Royce. Maybe she’ll loosen him up a bit!
This story is an emotional roller coaster ride! Will Royce loosen up and stop trying to be in control of everything and give Tina a chance?
Royce was a wonderful story! It was great getting to see some of my favorite characters from previous Sidewinders stories! Kat has written another fantastic book in the Sidewinders series! Now we get to wait for the next book!

I love this series. The hockey hunks are yummy. This is a light book, but with emotion and heat. Royce is a complex guy who needs to work on some inner demons. One favor for his buddy and teammate changes the course of Royce's life. Tina makes Royce start taking a hard look at himself. I really loved Tina. She's so artsy and creative which I can relate to because I'm creative person myself. This book sucked me and it was hard to put down. Also enjoyed seeing characters from the previous books enjoying their HEA especially the ones having babies. It always makes my heart happy.

It was very easy to fall under tis books spell. This opposites attract romance tugs at your heartstrings as Royce and Kristina (Tina), struggle with their unplanned for attraction, their big differences and their growing feelings for each other. The entertaining plot asks: Can love be enough to overcome the odds and let polar opposites get that HEA? This question and the work this couple must put into their relationship make for a very entertaining read. The story offers lots of drama and emotional turmoil as these two struggle through some very big issues, make many mistakes and try to find some middle ground along the rocky road of love. This is my impartial, independent review.

Ten books in and Ms. Mizera still manages to keep things fresh in this sweet and sexy tale of opposites attracting set against the backdrop of hockey and the music world. Royce and Tina are both larger than life characters with a romance that takes you on a rollercoaster ride that will keep you glued to the pages. It’s a romance that at times frustrates, often pulls at the heartstrings, but ultimately satisfies by putting a smile on reader’s faces.

Royce is a star hockey player, hard working and dedicated to the sport he’s devoted years to. He’s a bit regimented and likes things orderly too, much to the chagrin of his teasing teammates. His need for control arose from a childhood of chaos as his mother’s free spirit left him feeling lost and frustrated and yet today it’s tainted their relationship, while coloring many of his potential romantic relationships. The moment he meets his best friend’s sister though, he throws caution to the wind in an instant attraction to a woman living life on the edge. Throughout their time together Royce tries to balance his need for control with her chaotic way of life, sometimes successfully and sometimes with heartbreaking results. It makes for a rocky road to HEA that felt all the more real for its emotional ups and downs. Despite his calm and controlling demeanor I found Royce a likable hero. I enjoyed the balance of seriousness he showed the world while behind the scenes he was playful with fun and flirty interactions with Tina. When it comes to the bedroom he used his control to turn up the heat and it further brought out an intriguing dichotomy to the strong-willed Tina. Royce sometimes faltered in his relationship with Tina, but he ultimately made heartwarming amends that endeared him to me and had me rooting for him every step of the way.

Kristina Papadakis has always been a free spirit, always been the black sheep of the family for living her life on her own terms. While they see her as flighty and indecisive, she’s anything but that as she’s made a successful career for herself as a travel agent while embracing her love of music. It’s that dichotomy that first intrigues Royce and has them finding an unexpected connection that scorches up the pages. Tina’s brother Dmitri still sees her as a child, discounts her way of life, but with Royce she finds acceptance...though that acceptance puts a strain on their relationship at times. It’s a realistic turn as they both have very different careers that take them in opposite directions that will pull at reader’s heartstrings in their fight for HEA. Tina’s a likable heroine who projected a quiet demeanor to her typical Greek family, while living a bold life that fueled her soul and left me cheering. Tina’s full of life and I liked seeing her shake-up Royce’s control as it made for an entertaining journey to HEA.

Though this is the tenth book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series it stands strongly on its own with two very likable and easy to relate to characters. Their relationship may have been rocky at times because of their very different personalities, but their differences made them a much stronger couple through crackling interactions and sensual banter. Surrounding this appealing main couple was a large and equally entertaining cast of secondary characters who fans of the series got an update on while enticing new readers to catch up from the very start. While the theme of this story is familiar Ms. Mizera injects new energy and sensuality into this tale of opposites attracting that kept me glued to the pages as I cheered Royce and Tina on throughout their hard-fought journey to HEA.

When asked by his best friend and teammate to accompany his sister to a concert, Royce had no idea that his life was about to change. But, one night with Tina was enough to have him shaking up his well ordered life and routine just for the chance to spend time with her.

Tina knows what she wants out of life and works hard to get it. But she’s also a free spirit who follows her passions. When the chance of a lifetime comes her way to explore her music and be closer to Royce, Tina jumps at the chance. But, as their passions burn hot, their opposite personalities of ordered and go with the flow may be too much of a compromise for them both to make in order to be together.

Kat Mizera’s Royce was a fabulous opposites attract romance. What I loved best, however, was that this wasn’t a quick and easy happy ever after . . . sometimes people can be too opposite and unwilling to compromise to make it work without someone losing a piece of their soul.

I absolutely adored Tina’s character. Her free spirit helps her achieve her goals while exploring her passions and creativity. Her character had so much depth and so many layers that she jumped off the pages because she was so full of life and love. I also found it beautiful how she tried to rein in her personality a bit for Royce without truly giving it up.

Royce’s character was a bit harder for me to love. I totally understood why he was the way he was, but, I hated that he was so unable to compromise and so very set in his ways which caused him to sacrifice on so many relationships, including Tina, his teammates and his family.

There were a few spots in this book that seemed a bit slow for me . . .probably because I wanted someone to give Royce a good kick in his pants. Overall, however, I really enjoyed the romance as well as the side stories between Tina and rockstar Kasey Hart as well as with Royce and his teammates. Kat Mizera is always a master at incorporating and cultivating relationships with her side characters and those played out beautifully in this book . . .especially Royce and his parents.

Easily read as a stand alone, Royce was a fantastic addition to the Sidewinders series. 4 stars.

Engaging and relatable characters

Book 10 in the series, I hadn’t read this author before recently reading Dmitri's Christmas Angel in the Hockey Holidays anthology. It was a great story and I immediately added the Las Vegas Sidewinders to my TBR, so I was happy to see this new book coming out. While reading that story did help prove some background here, I feel this book works well read as a standalone as I certainly didn’t feel I was missing out on anything by not reading the earlier books in the series first.

An opposites attract—with just a touch of best friend’s sister—story, I loved the reality of the issues facing two very different people considering the possibility of merging their lives, even for a temporary period. Both Royce and Tina were likable and engaging, and I was cheering for them both. The author did a good job setting up the whys behind Royce’s issues so I still felt for him even when he was unbending and a bit of an a-hole. I loved how independent and determined Tina was; while her family viewed her as flaky, she had a very clear plan and was talented and successful in her own right.

One of the strengths of this author is her characters; not only does she do a great job creating her main characters, but her secondary characters as well (I really loved Casey here, to name just one). Coming in mid series as I did, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the characters that have appeared in the earlier books, but that never happens here, as the author just drops the information in subtly and as you need it without interrupting the story. In fact, I thought the writing was simply excellent, with great pacing and even flow that made it easy to get pulled into the story.

With engaging and relatable characters, this was a read I didn’t want to put down, and just reaffirmed my need to go back and read the earlier books in the series. 5+ stars

A great friends to lovers, opposites attract hockey romance. Royce is the 10th book in the Sidewinders series by Kat Mizera. It can be read as a standalone, but as someone who has read every book in the series, I do recommend you read the rest. Royce just like every book in the series is captivating, intense, and sensual!

Royce is the quiet one, the hockey player that keeps to himself. He is intense and OCD about almost every aspect of his life, doing everything he can to make sure he has a different life than the one he had growing up. Dating has always been a hardship for him, and catching feelings for his best friend’s little sister was NEVER part of the plan. Especially when she reminds him so much of the past he is running from— chaotic, spontaneous, and unstructured.

Is she enough to make him change?

Kristina (Tina) is a travel agent, musician, and waitress. She dabbles in a little bit of everything. To others she might seem flighty, but Tina has a goal and she is determined to make her dreams come true. She is eccentric, artistic, and keeps parts of her life hidden from her family for fear of being judged. She never imagined falling in love with a hockey player who is the complete and total opposite of her. Being in a relationship is hard, but trying to be with Royce is even harder. She isn’t willing to change for anyone, she wants to be loved for who she is and is afraid Royce never would.

This book was wonderful! I loved reading Tina and Royce’s story. They grew together and learned to live with each others personalities. This story is about two completely different people trying to find a happy medium. Falling in love was the easy part, trying to make the relationship work was the hard part. I loved their journey and loved catching up with the Sidewinders crew. Can’t wait until the next book!
