AIC Chosen to Repeat in Atlantic Hockey Preseason Poll

The votes are in for the 2019-20 Atlantic Hockey Association Preseason Coaches' Poll and AIC are the clear early favorites to finish first and repeat as champions with 10 first-place votes, earning 100 total points.

Niagara earned 78 total points and are slated to finish second. Both Sacred Heart and Bentley earned 77 points and are tied to finished third with Bentley having the last first place vote.

RIT and Air Force are separated by six points as RIT earned 66 points for fifth and Air Force earned 60 points for sixth.

The seven through eleven spots earned less than 50 points in the poll with Robert Morris being the closest at 46 to take the seventh spot. Army, Mercyhurst, Holy Cross and Canisius rounded out eight through eleven respectively.

The final poll results are:

1. AIC - 100 points (10 first place votes)
2. Niagara - 78 points

6. Air Force - 60 points
7. Robert Morris - 46 points

The 2019-20 AHA season begins on Saturday, October 5th with four non-conference games. Both Robert Morris and Sacred Heart are at home, hosting Michigan Tech and UConn, respectively, at 7:05 p.m. RIT will visit Colgate on the road for their first game at 7:05 p.m. Finally, Mercyhurst is also on the road to take on Arizona State for the night cap game starting at 9:30 p.m. EST.
